Recent Doodles

I moved to London at the beginning of the year and I’m still very much adjusting to this busy city.  Haven’t doodled as much as I’d like to but here are a few I managed to squeeze in.  I’m hoping to find some interesting drawing classes, really want to draw dancers and costumed performers, figured London is bound to have something like that!

How I like to spend a sunny day

Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day, so I did some painting, at a BBQ, 

in Loch Lomond.

I wish I had more time to work into this painting.  I'm not sure about the colours I chose but it's another different style I've never worked in before and I hope I get time to develop it.

This weeks colour piece was not as disastrous as last weeks but I still felt incredibly out of my comfort zone.  It took a while to build up all the colours on this piece because I didn't have the courage to paint opaquely like you can with gouache, instead I built up layers of washed out colour.

Summerlee Sketch

Quick sketch at Summerlee Industrial museum.   That's me getting back into more location drawing again, I can't quite brave the cold yet but Summerlee was a place that I hadn't been to since I was really wee.  Once it warms back up again or atleast not freezing cold then I'll go back to draw around the builing, it's a great building.

Medusa

My slowly dying computer is not so much forcing me to do more traditional work but I really want to be able to paint well, I'm particularly bad at watercolours so this was a fun wee doodle and I didn't have to put up with my infuriatingly slow computer!
